Ruth Williamson

RUTH WILLIAMSON (Queen) appeared on Broadway in the 2004 revival of La Cage aux Folles, the 2000 revival of The Music Man, which garnered her an Outer Critics Circle Nomination, Epic Proportions, for which she won a FANY Award (the People’s Choice of Broadway), Little Me with Martin Short, Guys and Dolls with Nathan Lane, Marvin Hamlisch’s Smile, The Musical Comedy Murders Of 1940, and the original Annie as Miss Hannigan, which she followed with a tour in the same role. She earned a Drama Desk nomination for Charles Busch’s The Green Heart (Manhattan Theatre Club) and appeared with the playwright in his productions of Queen Amarantha and You Should Be So Lucky (Barrymore Nomination). Also in New York, she appeared in DuBarry Was A Lady (Encores!), The Good Times Are Killing Me (Second Stage), The English Teachers (M.C.C.), and A Leonard Bernstein Revue (Rainbow & Stars). West Coast credits include Irving Berlin’s White Christmas at the Pantages; Guys and Dolls, The Music Man, and Les Misérables at the Hollywood Bowl; and three shows with L.A.’s Reprise! series: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Strike Up The Band, and No Strings. She played Vera opposite Carol Lawrence’s Mame at Musical Theatre West and played Mame at Sacramento Music Circus. Regionally, she has performed in The Women (The Old Globe), No Way to Treat a Lady (Coconut Grove; Carbonell Nomination), Candide (Huntington Theatre), Merrily We Roll Along (Arena Stage), and various roles at Long Wharf Theatre, O’Neill Conference, Bay Street Theatre, Papermill Playhouse, Pittsburgh CLO, The MUNY, Cape Playhouse, and Goodspeed Opera. Feature-film roles include Evan Almighty, The Producers, Legally Blonde II: Red, White & Blonde, The Family Man with Nicolas Cage, Malcolm X, Foreign Student, Psycho Beach Party, Double Parked, Italian Movie, and Easy Six with Julian Sand. She is the singing voice of Charles Busch in Die Mommie, Die! TV guest appearances include Monk, Medium, The O.C., Hannah Montana, Kingpin, ER, The Practice, Star Trek: Enterprise, Law & Order, What I Like About You, Wonderland, Chestnut Hill (NBC pilot), and the recurring role of Mrs. Grubman on the FX series, Nip/Tuck.
