About This Performance
The powerful, pounding sound of chorus and orchestra that you now hear in movies, videogames and on TV all started with the opening and closing movements of Carl Orff’s ultra-popular 1936 oratorio, a setting of medieval poems about life, love, morals, mockery and drinking. Now Orff’s most famous work, this iconic cantata will be led by one of our favorite Spanish conductors.
