Recently named Associate Conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chilean-Italian conductor Paolo Bortolameolli has a bustling concert schedule across the Americas, Asia, and Europe. In addition to his post in Los Angeles, he is also Principal Guest Conductor at the Teatro Municipal in Santiago.

Highlights of his upcoming season include performances at the Hollywood Bowl and across the city of Los Angeles, appearances with the Houston, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Vancouver symphony orchestras, as well as tours with the Orchestra della Toscana (Florence), the Gulbenkian Orchestra (Lisbon), and the Orchestra of the Americas (Mexico). Additionally, he will debut with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, and also the Hong Kong Philharmonic at the Hong Kong Arts Festival, which sees him conduct Mahler's epic Das Lied van der Erde in a production premiered in Los Angeles at Walt Disney Concert Hall in April, 2018.

Having conducted every significant orchestra in his Chilean homeland, Paolo has been awarded prizes three times by the Arts Critics Association as Symphonic and Opera Conductor of the Year. He returns this season to the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional Juvenil to conduct the world premiere of Jorge Pena  Hen's Piano Concerto, as well as the Orquesta Filarmonica de Santiago at the Teatro Municipal de Santiago for Mahler's Seventh Symphony, and he extends his operatic repertoire by conducting The Flying Dutchman.

In addition to the upcoming engagements cited above, Paolo's recent  visits to  the  Latin world include  the Orquesta Sinf6nica Simon Bolivar (Venezuela), Orquesta Clasica Santa Cecilia (Spain), Orquesta Filarm6nica de Buenos Aires (Argentina), Orquesta Sinf6nica del SODRE (Uruguay), and the Orquesta Sinf6nica de Minerfa (Mexico).

He is passionately committed to new music and audiences, having developed innovative projects such as RiteNow, a celebration of the centennial of The Rite of Spring, and he also created "Ponle Pausa," a project that seeks to revolutionize the concept of music education through the implementation of short videos and concerts targeting social network users. Paolo conducted ATLAS, a landmark new production of Meredith Monk's inventive opera, at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

This year, he was invited as lecturer for a TED Talk in New York.
