Gabriel Esperon

Originally hailing from Miami, Gabriel Esperon has an active musical career that has brought him from coast to coast. He is currently completing a Master’s degree in violin performance at UCLA, studying under Varty Manouelian and Movses Pogossian. In 2022 and 2024, Esperon attended the Aspen Music Festival and School. He received a fellowship and served as a principal player in the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble and Aspen Chamber Symphony, performing with renowned conductors including Robert Spano, Cristian Măcelaru, and Nicholas McGegan.

Esperon has performed in master classes for esteemed pedagogues such as Zakhar Bron, Paul Kantor, Stefan Jackiw, and Grigory Kalinovsky. He received undergraduate degrees in violin performance and economics at Vanderbilt University, where he studied with Cornelia Heard.

He won the UCLA Philharmonia All-Star competition in fall 2024 and was a finalist in the Vanderbilt University Concerto Competition in Nashville in 2023. Prior to studying with Heard, his musical education was largely shaped by Eric Berken, Gary Kosloski, and Robert Davidovici. Esperon has been teaching violin since 2020, beginning in Nashville at the W.O. Smith Community School.
