About this Artist
Danlei Wang is a composer and cellist in the tenth grade. Her compositions have received first place in the MTAC Composers Today Competition and recognition as a semifinalist in the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Award. Performances and recordings of her work have been done by ensembles at the Interlochen Arts Camp including the World Youth Wind Symphony, the European-American Musical Alliance resident string quartet, and the Super Joey Arts and Music Festival quartet.
As a cellist, Danlei has performed with the All-State String Orchestra, Conejo Valley Youth Orchestra's Symphony & Virtuosi ensembles, Santa Monica Symphony, and Colburn Advanced Orchestras. Outside of classical music, she's an avid reader, proud sibling to both a dog and a snake, and happiest when playing in a musical pit orchestra with her friends.
