About this Artist
Haegue Yang (b. 1971, Seoul) currently lives and works in Berlin and Seoul and teaches at her alma mater, the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. A prolific artist known for her versatile works ranging from room-scaled installations and performative sculptures, to paper collages and staging projects, Yang recently had solo exhibitions at institutions such as Pinacoteca de São Paulo (2023), ACC Chicago (2024), Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas (2025), and Kunsthal Rotterdam (2025). Her show Quasi-Heartland is currently on view at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, as well as Leap Year, a survey show touring from Hayward Gallery, London, at Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Zurich. In 2018, Yang won the Wolfgang Hahn Prize at Ludwig Museum in Cologne and in 2022 was awarded the 13th Benesse Prize during the Singapore Biennale. Her work is represented in prominent institutional collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Guggenheim New York; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; Centre Pompidou, Paris; and Tate Modern, London.
