Manu Hernandez

About this Artist

Born in Madrid, Manuel represents the contemporary evolution of the Parrilla family legacy from Jerez. He began playing guitar at the age of 12, growing up in an environment where flamenco tradition was the everyday language, providing him with an unparalleled rhythmic and cultural foundation. However, his musical identity is defined by an insatiable curiosity, which has allowed him to integrate his roots with an eclectic background encompassing Rock and Funk, Pop, and Jazz. This has made him a multifaceted guitarist capable of navigating diverse styles with a distinctive sound, marked especially by his use of electric guitar in flamenco contexts.

His technical proficiency and interpretive ability have led him to be sought after by important figures in contemporary music and flamenco, such as Pitingo & Juan Carmona, José Mercé, Enrique de Melchor, Juan Parrilla, Aída Gómez, Siudy Garrido, Fernando Soto, Joni Jiménez, and others.

Beyond his status as an elite instrumentalist, Manuel has established himself as a prolific composer and producer for various groups, bringing a fresh and contemporary vision to music production.

He is currently immersed in his latest project, "Gitana en New York," where he performs and composes, solidifying his artistic vision that fuses the essence of his roots with the cosmopolitan textures of the musical avant-garde.
