About this Artist
Kathryn Bailey is a soul-stirring vocalist, composer, and arranger. Her performances are marked with power and emotion, taking the audience on a musical journey through her song. Blessed with a rich, full voice, she effortlessly glides through every genre of music, including rock, blues, gospel, jazz, classical, R&B, soul, and folk. She has performed locally and nationwide, from Carnegie Hall to the Wilshire Ebell Theater in stage performances, operas, and musicals. She has most recently performed with the Southcoast Symphony under the direction of Barry Silverman for their Black History Month Celebration for a second year in a row. She has also sung with the Jubilee Singers, under the direction of Albert McNeil, as well as the Southeast Symphony and Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA), under the Direction of Chuck Dickerson. Perfecting her jazz chops, she has performed with the Cross Hart Jazz Experience, working with such artists as Ryan Cross, Lorca Hart, Brandon Coleman, Kenneth Crouch, Zane Musa, Chris Cadenhead, Tony Austin, Lyndon Rochelle, and many more. She has worked closely with composer Vivek Madala on film scores and soundtracks, lending her haunting melodies and lyrics to the film, Grasshopper, and the award-winning documentary on Darfur, They Turned Our Desert Into Fire. She has recently recorded the lead for an upcoming, original musical headed to Broadway! She has served as Choir Director at Berean SDA Church, Knox Presbyterian Church, New Hope Presbyterian Church, and, now, Park Hill Community Church. Her passion for music education has brought her to Grand Vision Foundation, The Music Center, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic where she serves the community as a teaching artist, combining her love of music with her passion for educating children.
