About this Artist

M’kai Yi Rising, informally known as Kai the Universe, is a DJ, musician, and audio visual storyteller from Oakland, California. He has worked with a myriad of artists and organizations nationally and internationally including Youth Speaks (Brave New Voices), Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Natasha Diggs (Soul in the Horn), and many more throughout his career. Now, residing in Brooklyn, New York, he is bridging the coastal and global gap with the curation of his ongoing music showcase events, Twisted Universe and Universe Radio Night, along with his partners and collaborators that share a similar mission of unifying community through timeless experiences.
