About this Artist
In the 2016/17 season, DAVID ADAM MOORE makes his debut at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Colonel Alvaro Gomez in Adès’ The Exterminating Angel, after creating the role in the world premiere at the 2016 Salzburg Festival. It will also serve as the vehicle for his debut next season with the Metropolitan Opera. Also this season he reprises Joseph de Rocher in Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and David T. Little’s Soldier Songs in a return to San Diego Opera, and returns to Austin Opera for Sergeant Raymond Shaw in Putz’s The Manchurian Candidate. He sings the title role of Don Giovanni with Nashville Opera and returns to Central City Opera as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte and, on the concert stage, sings Orff’s Carmina burana with the New Israeli Opera Orchestra.
A staunch advocate of contemporary music, Moore has received great critical acclaim for previous performances of Prior Walter in Eötvös’ Angels in America with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Opera Wrocławska, and at Fort Worth Opera; he subsequently created the role of Lucifer in the composer’s Paradise Reloaded (Lilith) in his debut at the Neue Oper Wien. He has also premiered a number of works by the American composers Martin Hennessy and Stephen Louis Bayne, most notably, 9/11/01 at Guggenheim Art Museum.
