Nick Mangano

NICK MANGANO (director) is happy to continue a longtime association with Steve Reich and Beryl Korot, having staged The Cave (Lincoln Center, international tour), and the world premiere (Vienna Festival) and international tour of Three Tales.

Nick has worked on and off Broadway and in regional theater, and has directed over 50 productions, most recently The Mountaintop at Capital Repertory Theatre. He was founder and Artistic Director of the Garson Theatre Company in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he directed regional premieres of plays by Moisés Kaufman and José Rivera, and his own adaptation of Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure. He also co-authored and directed a devised theater piece about the Cincinnati race riots of 2001 presented at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Nick has taught and/or directed at Yale University, the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) in San Francisco, The College of Santa Fe, the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), and Stony Brook University. He holds a BA in History from Hunter College (Phi Beta Kappa), and an MFA in Directing from Columbia University-School of the Arts, where he studied under Judith Malina and Liviu Ciulei.
