Julia Ward

About this Artist

Julia Ward (Director, Development Communications and Strategy) joined the LA Phil in 2008 and is the executive editor of the recently released commemorative publication Past/Forward: The LA Phil at 100. Prior to joining the LA Phil, Julia served as Program Director at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters; Associate Director of Programming at Washington Performing Arts; Adult Education and Community Outreach Coordinator at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; and Programming Associate at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.

As an editor and writer, she has overseen publications supporting Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project, the White Oak Dance Project, and the Kennedy Center’s Sondheim Celebration. Julia served as an adjunct faculty member of George Mason University's Arts Management program and as a guest lecturer to the University of Maryland's School of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies. She currently serves on the board of the Association of California Symphony Orchestras.
