Louis Langrée is Director of the Théâtre national de l’Opéra Comique, a position he has held since 2021, and Music Director Laureate of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

A regular presence in New York, Langrée was the final Music Director of the Mostly Mozart Festival and has conducted the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Carnegie Hall, and at The Juilliard School. Worldwide guest conducting appearances have included the Berlin, Czech, London, Vienna, Tokyo, and Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestras; the Chicago, London, Pittsburgh, NHK, and Shanghai symphony orchestras; and the Philadelphia, Budapest Festival, Leipzig Gewandhaus, and the Orchestre de Paris. He frequently conducts at the Vienna Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, London’s Royal Opera House (Covent Garden), Opéra de Paris, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Bavarian Staatsoper, and at festivals including Glyndebourne, Aix-en-Provence, BBC Proms, Edinburgh International, Ravinia, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Salzburg Whitsun, and Mozartwoche.
