About this Piece
I wrote 25 for Gabriel Cabezas in celebration of his 32nd birthday. Gabriel and I met as freshmen at the Curtis Institute of Music when he was 16 years old, and we have been close friends and collaborators ever since. When Gabriel turned 32, I wanted to mark the moment our friendship officially spanned half our lives. Many thanks to Gabriel for being such a big source of inspiration and joy in my life.
