  • SINGLE TICKETS ON SALE BEGINNING SATURDAY, MAY 7

    Single tickets for the Hollywood Bowl 2011 season go on sale on Saturday, May 7 at 10am via HollywoodBowl.com, Audience Services at 323.850.2000, Ticketmaster at 800.745.3000 or in person at the Hollywood Bowl Box Office, open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., May 7 – 15. The box office is closed on Monday, May 16. Beginning May 17, the box office is open noon – 6 p.m., Tues. – Sun. throughout the season. On May 7 only, due to the high demand of walkup business, wristband distribution begins at approximately 8am. Only 500 wristbands will be distributed for the day (and the 500 are generally distributed within an hour). The Hollywood Bowl Store, Hollywood Bowl Museum, and a snack stand will be open.

    CIRQUE DU SOLEIL PERFORMANCE

    Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank will induct Grammy- and Emmy-winning singer/musician/actor Harry Connick, Jr. into the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame at this year’s Opening Night at the Hollywood Bowl, Friday, June 17, at 8:30 p.m. The evening also features an exclusive sneak preview of Cirque du Soleil’s first resident production in Los Angeles, IRIS – A Journey Through the World of Cinema. Seven-time Grammy-winning pop music superstar Gloria Estefan will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. Both Connick, who made his Bowl debut in 1994, and Estefan, who first appeared at the Bowl in 1988*, are to perform with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by Principal Guest Conductor Thomas Wilkins. Proceeds from the evening benefit the LA Phil and its music education programs, which reach more than 120,000 children, teachers and adults every year.

    WAYNE BRADY JOINS MICHAEL FEINSTEIN AND THE SINGING STARS OF TELEVISION AS A SPECIAL GUEST

    Making his return to the Hollywood Bowl after his appearance in the successful run of last season’s production of RENT, Wayne Brady joins special guests Florence Henderson, Cheyenne Jackson and Dick Van Dyke for two nights of Michael Feinstein and the Singing Stars of Television - a dazzling parade of classic and popular songs from the Great American Songbook – from Gershwin and Berlin to New Orleans jazz and Broadway musicals – led by the ambassador of this beloved genre, Michael Feinstein.

    GRAMMY-AWARD WINNER HERBIE HANCOCK TO CONTINUE AS THE CAROLYN AND BILL POWERS CREATIVE CHAIR FOR JAZZ THROUGH THE 2012/13 SEASON

    Grammy-winner Herbie Hancock will serve as the LA Phil’s Carolyn and Bill Powers Creative Chair for Jazz through the 2012/13 winter season. Hancock’s tenure was originally announced in March 2009 and began with the Hollywood Bowl 2010 season.

    THOMAS WILKINS EXTENDS CONTRACT AS PRINCIPAL GUEST CONDUCTOR OF THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL ORCHESTRA THROUGH THE 2013 SEASON

    Thomas Wilkins’ contract as Principal Guest Conductor of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra (HBO) has been extended through the Hollywood Bowl 2013 season. Wilkins’ tenure was originally announced in March 2008 and began that same year leading the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in the Opening Night performance of the summer season.

    MÚSICA Y SABOR AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL MUSEUM

    Música y Sabor, which opens Friday, June 17 at the Hollywood Bowl Museum, is a new exhibition that features the great Latino musical artists who have performed at the world-famous Hollywood Bowl over the last 90 years. This exhibition features bilingual text, stunning graphics and photographs, interactive computer kiosks featuring audio clips and concert programs, and a dance floor. The Hollywood Bowl Museum will host a free dance party before the En Fuego concert on Saturday, August 13, from 5:30-8 p.m. with a DJ. Free dance lessons start at 5:30, with food and drink available for purchase on the Museum Terrace. Summer hours (June 17 - September 24): Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays, 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Off-season hours: Tuesday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays by appointment. Admission is free.
