WHAT:
Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks
American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancers Marcelo Gomes, Paloma Herrera, Veronika Part and Cory Stearns will perform in the Tchaikovsky Spectacular with Fireworks concert at the Hollywood Bowl, Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8, at 8 pm. The all-Tchaikovsky program features Herrera and Stearns in the famous White Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake and Part and Gomes in pas de deux from The Nutcracker.

Beethoven’s Ninth
Multimedia artist Herman Kolgen will create video imagery to accompany the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony to close the Tuesday, July 10 program. The video, an LA Phil and Getty Museum co-commission, celebrates Gustav Klimt’s 150th birthday and his famous Beethoven Frieze, and will be shown during the “Ode to Joy” finale of the symphony. This performance is in conjunction with the Getty’s landmark exhibition Gustav Klimt: The Magic of Line on view from July 3 through September 23, 2012. Also on the program, led by Leonard Slatkin, are Anna Clyne’s Rewind, Anne LeBaron’s American Icons and Cindy McTee’s Tempus Fugit.
