Los Angeles, CA (November 3, 2014) – The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association announced today the first glimpse of the 2015 Hollywood Bowl summer season, with the entire season to be announced in February, 2015.

Legendary Motown icon and Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson will join the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the Hollywood Bowl July 4th Fireworks Spectacular, Thursday through Saturday, July 2 – 4, 2015, at 7:30 pm. Once pronounced by Bob Dylan as America’s “greatest living poet,” Robinson, during the course of his 50-year career in music, has accumulated more than 4,000 songs to his credit and continues to thrill sold-out audiences around the world with his high tenor voice, impeccable timing, and profound sense of lyric. Most recently, Robinson released Smokey and Friends, a special duets album which features Robinson alongside a celebrated roster of contemporary and classic artists - including Elton John, John Legend, Steven Tyler and Mary J. Blige.

The Hollywood Bowl July 4th holiday celebration offers the incredible outdoor setting of the iconic venue, Motown favorites from Robinson, patriotic music from the LA Phil, and a spectacular fireworks display. Considered one of Southern California’s top Independence Day pyrotechnic displays, the annual July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Bowl has become a local family tradition. Tickets for children ages 12 and under are half price.

Dates for popular annual concerts have also been set, including: Opening Night (June 20), Smooth Summer Jazz (August 23), “The Big Picture” Movie Night (September 6), and Sing-A-Long Sound of Music (June 26).

With the Hollywood Bowl serving as the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for more than 90 years, the 2015 season continues the tradition of offering classical concerts every Tuesday and Thursday night, with star-studded programming:

    • Concerts led by Music Director Gustavo Dudamel including Carmina Burana with the LA Master Chorale and LA Children’s Chorus

It remains one of the best deals anywhere in Los Angeles; to this day, $1 buys a seat at the top of the Bowl for many classical and jazz offerings. The venue offers something for everyone, from its sizzling summer evening concerts to the daytime arts festival for children, “SummerSounds: World Music for Kids at the Hollywood Bowl.” In February 2014, the Hollywood Bowl was named Best Major Outdoor Concert Venue for the tenth year in a row at the 25th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards.
