Los Angeles, CA (December 15, 2014) – Four concerts from the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 2014/15 season at Walt Disney Concert Hall will be broadcast nationally to over 90 public radio stations via American Public Media’s SymphonyCast program. The concerts feature Los Angeles Philharmonic Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Herbert Blomstedt, as well as soloists Leif Ove Andsnes, Jeremy Denk, Gautier Capuçon, and Richard Goode. In addition, a performance of Gustavo Dudamel leading the LA Phil in Mahler’s 9th Symphony recorded in 2012 will be broadcast in its entirety.
SymphonyCast, hosted by Alison Young, is a weekly two-hour radio program featuring full-length concerts by the best symphony orchestras from around the world. Material is drawn from Europe's premier ensembles, along with U.S. orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra.
Listeners can obtain information on partner stations and specific broadcast days and times, as well as access to concerts on demand at symphonycast.org. Each show is promoted on American Public Media partnering stations the week of the broadcast.
