  • CELLIST EDGAR MOREAU TO REPLACE ORGANIST CAMERON CARPENTER IN CONCERT WITH THE LOS PHILHARMONIC LED BY NICHOLAS McGEGAN AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL

    WHAT:       
    Edgar Moreau
    will replace Cameron Carpenter for the Tuesday, August 25, 8 pm performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl. Cameron Carpenter has been forced to withdraw from his appearance with the LA Phil due to complications in transporting the International Touring Organ arising from errors made by his management. The Poulenc Organ Concerto, which Carpenter was to have performed, has been replaced with Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1. 

    The concert will be Moreau’s Hollywood Bowl debut. The 21-year-old French cellist already has a number of exceptional achievements under his belt – he won the Second Prize in Russia’s Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 17, won the Young Soloist Prize in the 2009 Rostropovich Competition in Paris and has performed with some of the most distinguished musicians in the world. He and the LA Phil will perform under the baton of Baroque specialist and frequent Bowl guest Nicholas McGegan. The updated program is as follows:

    SAINT- SAËNS        Cello Concerto No. 1
    IBERT                    Hommage à Mozart
    HAYDN                  Symphony No. 85, “La reine”
