    About Gladys Knight:

The great ones endure, and Gladys Knight, known as the “Empress of Soul,” has long been one of the greatest. Very few singers over the last fifty years have matched her unassailable artistry. The award-winning singer, actress, author, restaurateur, spokeswoman, humanitarian, and philanthropist has recorded more than 38 albums, including four solo albums during the past decade, and has triumphed in film, television and live performance. The seven-time Grammy-winner has enjoyed #1 hits in Pop, Gospel, R&B and Adult Contemporary, including the classic Gladys Knight & the Pips songs “Midnight Train to Georgia,” as well as “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “If I Were Your Woman,” and “Neither One of Us (Wants to be the First to Say Goodbye).”

In 1995, Knight earned her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the next year, Gladys Knight & The Pips were inducted into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. In 1998, she and The Pips were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame. Knight received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the annual BET Awards ceremony in 2004, and in 2011 she was honored with a “Legend Award” on the BET broadcast of the 3rd annual Soul Train Awards.

The summer of 2014 marked the release of “Where My Heart Belongs”, an inspirational gospel album, which earned Knight an NAACP Image Award for “Outstanding Gospel Album.”
