LOS ANGELES (April 17, 2025)—The Hollywood Bowl, one of the leading natural amphitheaters in the world and the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, was honored Wednesday as the Outdoor Concert Venue of the Year (Red Rocks Award) at the 36th annual Pollstar Awards at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. This award has now been bestowed on the iconic venue 18 times in addition to its 2021 win for Amphitheatre of the Decade at the 32nd Pollstar Awards. These distinctions reaffirm the Hollywood Bowl as a premier destination for performers and audiences alike.
Renowned for its exquisite setting, the Hollywood Bowl hosts a tremendous range of artists, from classical and jazz to rock and reggae, along with iconic film music and special presentations of Broadway favorites. In 2024, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association celebrated another diverse and electrifying Hollywood Bowl season with over 100 concerts, including nine performances with Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel and shows featuring Patti LaBelle, Chaka Khan, Laufey, Seal, Khruangbin, LA Phil Creative Chair for Jazz Herbie Hancock, Pink Martini, Natalia Lafourcade, Camilo, Jungle and Mitski.
Special presentations by the LA Phil included the July Fourth Fireworks Spectacular with Harry Connick Jr. and the LA Phil led by conductor Thomas Wilkins and the season’s Fireworks Finale featuring Boyz II Men; film nights such as composer John Williams’ Maestro of the Movies program and the world debut of Marvel Studios’ Infinity Saga Concert Experience conducted by Dudamel; performances by classical superstars, among them Augustin Hadelich, Ray Chen and Pinchas Zukerman; jazz performances by Jodeci, Kamasi Washington, Robert Glasper with Yebba, Christian McBride, Cory Henry, Charles Lloyd, Baby Rose, The Soul Rebels with Seun Kuti, Mulatu Astatke, Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band, Alex Isley, Aneesa Strings and the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance Ensemble at UCLA ; and an evening featuring Broadway stars singing fan-favorite music from Les Misérables, Miss Saigon and more. Live Nation-Hewitt Silva also brought a star-studded lineup to the Bowl in 2024 that included Joni Mitchell & The Joni Jam, James Taylor, Sarah McLachlan, Eric Clapton, Justice, Imagine Dragons, Kygo, Omar Apollo and comedians Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Burr, John Mulaney, Seth Rogen, Matt Rife, Kevin Hart and Trevor Noah.
