Appalachian Spring
As the title of Laura Karpmanās premiere suggests, this is truly an all-American program, featuring music by some of our most loved composers. Samuel Barber is represented by his elegant and virtuosic Violin Concerto, Duke Ellington by the symphonic jazz of his Harlem, and Aaron Copland by the quintessentially American imagery of his ballet score Appalachian Spring.
