Your safety is our top priority. In addition to already existing measures, we have implemented new security features to enhance the safety and overall concert experience for everyone. Please give yourself ample time to get to your seats (arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your ticketed time).
Metal Detectors – There are walk through metal detectors at all entrance points. This process is like those used at most major stadiums and arenas. When going through the metal detectors, please be aware that bags, hats, cell phones, cameras, tablets, computers and any large metal items need to be removed and shown to the attendants. Belts, coins, keys and wallets do not need to be removed from your person or pockets. You will continue to be able to bring picnics and other items you normally bring to concerts.
Mid Gate – To help everyone enter the venue with ease, we have expanded the Mid Gate entrance. The Mid-Gate is located just up the hill from the Main Gate on the west edge of parking lot A. (West Gate is also available as normal.)
Be safe: if you see something, say something. To report an incident discreetly during an event, text keyword BOWL to 69050.
We ask that everyone comply to our Code of Conduct.
By law (LACC 17.04.645), smoking is not permitted on the Hollywood Bowl grounds, except in designated areas. Violators are subject to removal. Smoking in any other areas could lead to arrest and would be considered a misdemeanor. Please refer to the map below for the areas at the Bowl designated for smoking.
What Can I Bring?
Food , Drink & Containers
You may bring food and drink to the Hollywood Bowl.
You can also bring wine bottles, wine glasses and beer bottles inside for events presented by the LA Phil.
No kegs of any kind are allowed at the Hollywood Bowl.
Weapons are not allowed at the Hollywood Bowl.
Large containers, picnic baskets, or coolers measuring more than 15" wide, 15" high, or 22" long will not be permitted past the ticket gate. All containers, picnic baskets and coolers must be able to fit under the seat or within the box. For the safety of all our patrons and to comply with fire regulations, the aisles and walkways of the Hollywood Bowl must be kept clear at all times.

What Time Should I Arrive?
Parking lots open 4 hours before the start of each concert.
Gate Open Times (barring stage delays) for ticketed access to the auditorium:
- Monday and all Lease Events: 90 minutes prior to concert start time
- Tuesday Classical series concerts: 2 hours prior to concert start time
- Wednesday Jazz series concerts: 2 hours prior to concert start time
- Thursday Classical series concerts: 2 hours prior to concert start time
- Sunday World Music series concerts: 90 minutes prior to concert start time
- For all other concerts – including Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday concerts not part of the Classical or Jazz series – the gates for ticketed access to the auditorium open 2-½ hours prior to concert start time.
Cameras and Recording Equipment
Flash photography, professional camera or recording equipment and the following items are prohibited:
- Cameras with detachable lenses
- Any form of camera stand (monopods included)
- Selfie sticks
- Audio/video recording devices
- Computer tablets
- Laser pointers
As a courtesy to the musicians and the surrounding audience, please keep noise to a minimum during the performance. Such noise would include: securing/opening all bottles, coughing, unwrapping candy, talking, answering your phone, making phone calls, etc.
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING ELECTRONIC DEVICES DURING THE PERFORMANCE.
This includes mobile phones, pagers, watch alarms, portable devices and all video-game devices – anything that will emit light or make noise.
As a courtesy to the performers and the audience, latecomers will not be seated until the earliest appropriate opportunity in the concert at the discretion of management.
Please note that certain programs are performed without intermission. Therefore, no late seating can be offered at those concerts.
There is no minimum age for admittance to the Hollywood Bowl. We do ask, however, that everyone, regardless of age, be able to sit quietly through a two-hour (or longer) concert without disrupting others. Ushers may ask parents whose children are noisy to remove them from the theater. If there is repeated disruption, we reserve the right to revoke admission and refund your ticket price, excluding service charges.
Regular Bowl concerts are not intended for young children. In any case, children age 2 and up must have a regular-price ticket to enter the theater and must sit in the seat indicated. Children under age 2 do not require a ticket. Management may require baby strollers and carrying devices to be stored at the Operations Office.
In 2016, after 47 years of producing SummerSounds at the Hollywood Bowl, the LA Phil brought this world music and art program for children ages 3-9 to a close in order to focus resources on serving a broader community through mission-driven educational programs offering wider access to orchestral music training and development. The Hollywood Bowl is family-friendly and can be enjoyed as a public park or through its main stage productions.
The long standing Bowl tradition is that the "show must go on," so there are no rained out concerts and no rain checks will be issued. Please note that, for safety reasons, umbrellas are not permitted at the Hollywood Bowl.
Tailgating in the parking lots is not permitted.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department has granted permission to use candles that meet very specific fire safety requirements in the Box Seat sections only. Approved candles are sold at the Bowl Store. If the candle device consists of more than one part, the parts must be secured together so that the candle device remains intact when tipped over. The tip of the flame must not be any closer than 2 inches from the top of the container.
