About this Performance

Edvard Grieg had a remarkable gift for melodies, none more memorable that the ones he created for Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt. Famed for his performance at the royal wedding in 2018, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason explores the rich, dark textures of Edward Elgar’s profound concerto, and Dudamel completes the evening with that British composer’s imposing Enigma Variations.
