About this Performance

Two internationally beloved opera stars return to the Hollywood Bowl to perform show-stopping selections from Vienna’s sumptuous golden age of opera. Jonas Kaufmann, often called “the world’s greatest tenor,” and Diana Damrau, one of today’s most sought-after interpreters of song, share the stage with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil for a enchanting selection of solos and duets by Franz Lehár and Johann Strauss II. Dudamel then leads the LA Phil in Richard Strauss’s waltzing Der Rosenkavalier Suite, which revels in the opulence and elegance of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

This performance is generously supported by the Lloyd E. Rigler – Lawrence E. Deutsch Foundation.
