About this Performance
Music from the Films of Wes Anderson is a celebration of the director’s 30-year filmography, featuring performances by his closest musical collaborators, a selection of clips from his most popular films and an immersive concert experience where the grounds of the Hollywood Bowl are transformed into Anderson’s stylized world.
The music in Wes Anderson’s films is nearly as beloved as the films themselves, from rediscovered pop hits—or should-have-been hits—to uniquely original film scores by Mark Mothersbaugh and Alexandre Desplat. Over three nights, musicians including Beck, Jenny Lewis, Jackson Browne, and Mothersbaugh himself perform favorites songs, scores, and classical selections from across Anderson’s filmography backed by an all-star house band and, on Friday and Saturday, Thomas Wilkins and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
The grounds of the Hollywood Bowl become Wes Anderson’s wonderful world with themed displays, character-inspired treats, limited-edition merch, and The Criterion Mobile Closet. Audiences can also explore The Criterion Cinema—an immersive look inside Wes Anderson’s world featuring screenings of films personally selected by him.
Bust out your Margot Tenenbaum furs and eyeliner, lace up your Steve Zissou adidas, and get ready to explore the sights and sounds of one of Hollywood’s most visionary directors!
