California State University, Fullerton University Singers, under the direction of Dr. Robert Istad, enjoy an international reputation for artistic excellence and versatility. The ensemble performs widely and collaborates regularly with major orchestras including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony, and New World Symphony. University Singers have been invited to perform at the American Choral Directors Association national conferences in 2013 and 2025, the National Collegiate Choral Organization conferences in 2013 and 2026, and the ACDA Western Division conferences in 2012, 2018, and 2024.

The choir has appeared under the batons of Gustavo Dudamel, Carl St.Clair, Sarah Hicks, David Newman, and John Williams and has collaborated with distinguished artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Patti LuPone, Sutton Foster, Skylar Astin, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Juanes, and Beck. Its performances can be heard on Sony Classical’s John Williams & Steven Spielberg: The Ultimate Collection and Yarlung Records’ Nostos: The Homecoming of Music. Istad has led the ensemble on international tours throughout South Africa, eastern Australia, Spain, Scandinavia, Russia, Austria, Germany, Italy, and France. In July 2024, University Singers became the first American chorus to perform in Rwanda, and in July 2026 the ensemble tours and perform throughout India.
