Jamie Chamberlin

Soprano JAMIE CHAMBERLIN is a graduating Master of Music student at UCLA, where she studies with Juliana Gondek. Recognized for her abilities as a singer and an actress, Chamberlin has performed extensively within the music department at UCLA, regularly winning both leading and supporting roles in opera and musical theater productions.

Most recently Chamberlin starred as Contessa di Folleville in Opera UCLA’s concert production of Rossini’s Il viaggio a Reims (The Journey to Rheims), and as Lady Billows in Britten’s Albert Herring. Other roles include Concepcion in Ravel’s L’heure espagnole (The Spanish Hour), Arminda in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera (The Pretended Gardner), as well as Anita in West Side Story and Hesione in the west coast premiere of Triumph of Love. Chamberlin has sung solos with the UCLA Philharmonia and the Pasadena Symphony, and in 2002 she began her professional career as a member of the Los Angeles Opera Chorus.

As a recipient of the Society of Singers scholarship, Chamberlin was a featured soloist at the 11th Annual Ella Awards recognizing Plácido Domingo in May of 2002; she sang alongside Julia Migenes, Rodney Gilfry, Julie Andrews, and Kristin Chenoweth, among others. Chamberlin has also won scholarships from the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation, the Leni Fe Bland Foundation, the Santa Barbara Music Club, the Carol Burnett Musical Theater Awards, the Palm Springs Opera Guild of the Desert, and others. In October of 2002, Chamberlin was a Los Angeles district finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
