BILL COSBY is one of the most influential stars in America today. Through concert appearances, recordings, television, films, commercials, and his education efforts, Bill Cosby has touched people's lives with humor grounded in the traditions of the great American humorists such as Charlie Chaplin, Will Rogers, W.C. Fields, and Groucho Marx.

Cosby's most recent projects include the movie Fat Albert, for which he and his wife Camille Cosby served as executive producers and in which Bill Cosby appears as himself, and the DVD release of the complete Fat Albert television series.

Noted for his success on the hit television series I Spy, Fat Albert, and The Cosby Show, Cosby has made his mark in television, film, and publishing. He has ten certified gold records and five certified platinum from the Recording Industry Association of America, his television projects have received widespread critical and popular accolades, and his books, such as Fatherhood and Childhood, have sold in the millions.

Cosby is involved with a host of charity organizations and is an active trustee of his alma mater, Temple University. Bill and Camille Cosby have made substantial gifts in support of education (most notably to predominantly African American colleges) and to various social service and civil rights organizations.

Cosby earned a master's degree in Education in 1972 and his doctorate in Education in 1977 from the University of Massachusetts.

His lifelong contributions to American culture were recognized with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1998 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor, in July 2002.
