About this Artist
Freelance trumpet player Michael Davis is a Los Angeles native. After graduating from the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Trumpet Performance he attended the USC Thornton School of Music achieved a Masters of Music. Michael has performed with such noted ensembles and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra and The Philip Glass Ensemble. He has also recorded with indie rock artists Devendra Banhardt, Noah Georgeson and Fabrizio Moretti to name a few. Michael has been the teaching assistant and guest soloist at the Oberlin summer Trumpet Workshop since 2007. Along with having a private studio Michael teaches beginning brass and percussion classes and is the Assistant Concert Band Director for the Assistance League of Flintridge. He has also been the trumpet coach for the Crescenta Valley Jazz Band for the past four years.
