Trained at the Music Academy in Budapest, Peter Eötvös began scoring Hungarian films when he was 18 years old. He later worked with Karlheinz Stockhausen for almost a decade and he was Music Director of the Ensemble InterContemporain in Paris for over a decade. He is greatly esteemed as a teacher and a Grammy-nominated conductor, as well as being one of the most significant compositional voices of his generation. He is particularly interested in the theater, with nine operas or music theater pieces in his catalog.
