Concord Records recording artist GREGG FIELD is one of the most versatile and highly sought-after producers, drummers, and educators in music today. He has been voted into Modern Drummer magazine’s readers’ poll five times. His musical collaborators have included Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, John Williams, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Quincy Jones, Barry Manilow, Phil Ramone, Ray Charles, Liza Minnelli, Stevie Wonder, Rosemary Clooney, Diane Schuur, Mel Tormé, Amy Grant, Grover Washington Jr., and Patti Austin. He has appeared on 19 Grammy-nominated recordings, three of which have won the award. In 2000 Field released his debut solo CD, The Art of Swing.
Besides being a highly respected drummer, Field has become a busy record producer. He recently produced Monica Mancini’s 2005 double-Grammy-nominated Ultimate Mancini, Concord Records’ 30th Anniversary – Live at Montreux, Patti Austin’s 2003 Grammy nominee For Ella, the main title to the film Ghost Ship, the 2002 Grammy-nominated Soul Call by Nnenna Freelon, and the Grammy-nominated Earth by Bob Florence.
