Originally from Mendoza, Argentina, Mariana Flores studied singing at the University of Cuyo and then at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel. She has participated in master classes with Patricia Pease (USA), Jennifer Smith (England), Margreet Honig (Netherlands), Jennifer Larmore (USA), and Bernarda Fink (Buenos Aires, Slovenia).
Mariana sings frequently under direction of Leonardo García Alarcón with the ensembles Cappella Mediterranea and Clematis. She has worked previously with Daniela Dolci (Musica Fiorita), Gabriel Garrido (Ensemble Elyma), Michael Form, Manfred Kraemer, Martin Gester (Le Parlement de la Musique), Andrea Marcon, Andreas Stoehr, Christina Pluhar (L’Arpeggiata), and Vincent Dumestre (Le Poème Harmonique), among others..
Flores is a versatile singer, performing repertoire from the 17th century to the 20th century, primarily Monteverdi, Strozzi, Cavalli, Handel, Mozart, and Piazzolla.

Recent opera engagements include L’Egisto by Cavalli, with Le Poème Harmonique conducted by Vincent Dumestre at the Opéra Comique and at the Opéra de Rouen; Ulysse dans l’île de Circé by Zamponi with Clematis conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón in Liège at the Salle Philharmonique; Così fan tutte by Mozart (Despina), at Perm Opera and Ballet Theater in Russia, conducted by Teodor Currentzis; Il Paride by Bontempi, with L’Arpeggiata conducted by Christina Pluhar at the Innsbruck Festival; and Elena by Cavalli, conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón at the Festival d’Aix en Provence in 2013.
