About this Artist

ROB FREAR is a Professor of Music at California State University, Long Beach and a founding member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. He has performed as Principal Trumpet with almost all the orchestras, ballet, and opera companies in Southern California over the past three decades.

Formerly solo trumpet of the Israel Philharmonic with Zubin Mehta, he has received critical acclaim throughout five continents. “A trumpeter of unparalleled stamina” (The Herald, Scotland); “The Principal Trumpet player delivered his notes with Jedi-like laser focus” (Saskatoon StarPhoenix, Canada). He has performed on the soundtracks of many motion pictures and television shows since 1991.
