About this Artist
It hasn't taken long for brilliant Israeli pianist ALON GOLDSTEIN to achieve the kind of success that was predicted for him by such leading figures as Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado and Leon Fleisher. He made his orchestra debut at the age of 18, playing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Israeli Philharmonic under the baton of Maestro Zubin Mehta, which resulted in re-engagements as well as additional performances with the Jerusalem Symphony.
Recent seasons have seen his debut appearances with the Houston Symphony, the Kansas City Symphony, the Kalamazoo Symphony, the Rhode Island Philharmonic, and the Israel Chamber Orchestra. In July 2002 he made his debut appearance with the Philadelphia Orchestra playing Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 under the baton of Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos.
