Shannon Knox

About this Artist

Shannon Knox is a scenic designer and director. Recent productions include Unseal Unseam, an adaptation of Bluebeard’s Castle, performed with Arnold Schoenberg’s monodrama Erwartung as a part of the Edinburgh International Festival Fringe; the experimental dance piece Distorted Realities by Brigette Dunn at the Bootleg Theater; and Heiner Muller’s Hamlet Machine directed by Brian Hashimoto at the Walt Disney Modular Theater. She served as Associate Designer to Christopher Barreca on Eugene Onegin at the Spoleto Festival.

Knox received her MFA in Scenic Design from California Institute of the Arts and her Bachelor’s degree in Scenic Design from Pennsylvania State University. She is cofounder of the all-female opera company Unseal Unseam, and a winner of Opera America’s Robert L. Tobin Director Designer showcase for her production concept of Richard Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer.
