About this Artist
LOS ROBLES MASTER CHORALE is a 100-voice choral ensemble based in Ventura County. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Lesley Leighton since 2008, the choir performs extensively in Thousand Oaks, Oak Park, and in the surrounding community.
Los Robles Master Chorale was honored to take part in A Concert for America – A Tribute to Ronald Reagan on February 5, 2011 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library as part of the celebration of the former president’s centennial birthday. The chorale’s community and education outreach programs includes regular performances for underserved residents, an annual High School Choral Festival, and a Choral Leadership Workshop for serious high school choral singers. Last year, LRMC introduced its Young Composers Competition, which offers a cash prize and the promise of performance for the winning composition by a southern California composer under the age of 35.
The chorale’s 2011-12 season includes six concerts that will take audiences around the globe with music new and old. Highlights include the Rutter Gloria, Mozart Requiem, and Haydn Te Deum, as well as the African celebration work, Zimbe, which the chorale will perform with children’s choir and jazz quintet.
