About this Artist
The MAIN STREET MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION MUNICIPAL BRASS BAND, one of Disneyland's most entertaining musical ensembles, is made up of the local merchants on Main Street U.S.A. The merchants take time out of their busy schedules to "give back" to the Disneyland community with their impromptu concerts. The laundry shop owner can't stay long or his business will "fold." The clothier can afford more time away because he's got things all "sewn up." It's just that small town sentiment that makes this band such an endearing part of the Disneyland experience.
Comprised of some of Southern California's finest brass players (and a saxophonist), the group captures the flavor of a small town band around the turn of the last century. Between the era of the horse and buggy and the jazz age, there was an America filled with a sense of community that has, until recently, been missing. Picture a bandstand concert in the park, neighbors sipping lemonade on a porch swing, eating watermelon on the front lawn, and hearing the sound of children's laughter as they catch fireflies in the twighlight of a summer day. These are the images the band paints with their music. From the classics to ragtime to that new-fangled Dixieland jazz, the band shows off in fine fashion. When you're ready to be transported to that small-town America of a bygone era, come and experience the magic and adventures everywhere you turn at Disneyland. The Main Street Merchants Association Municipal Brass Band will bring you right back home.
