About this Artist
Albanian soprano INVA MULA captured international attention when she won the Placido Domingo Competition at the Opera Garnier in Paris in 1993. Since then, she has been praised for her superb technique, musicality and vocal line as she has performed a wide range of roles from the lyric, bel canto and Mozartian repertoires. She has sung the title role in La Traviata, Musetta in La Bohème, Antonia in Tales of Hoffman, Gilda in Rigoletto and Juliette in Romèo et Juliette throughout Europe and the Americas. Ms. Mula began this season singing Nanetta in Falstaff with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, a role she will repeat under Muti at La Scala. Mula is scheduled to make her Metropolitan Opera debut in the 2001-02 season in the role of Musetta.
