Grammy-nominated classical guitar virtuoso CHRISTOPHER PARKENING maintains an extensive recital schedule taking him around the country performing with the finest orchestras in the United States. In addition to celebrated performances at the White House, Carnegie Hall's 100th Anniversary, and on Live From Lincoln Center with Plácido Domingo, Parkening has performed as featured soloist with composer/conductor John Williams on the Sony Classical soundtrack of Stepmom, which enjoyed a near two-year run on Billboard's classical crossover chart. Voted "Best Classical Guitarist" in the nationwide readers' poll of Guitar Player Magazine for many consecutive years, Parkening was placed in their Gallery of Greats along with fellow classical guitar great Andrés Segovia. In May of 2002, he was named a distinguished faculty member of Pepperdine University.
