Elvia Puccinelli

Dr. ELVIA L. PUCCINELLI is extremely active as a pianist and coach throughout the country. An alumna of the Tanglewood Music Festival in 1998 and San Francisco Opera's Merola Program in 1999, Puccinelli was invited to return to Tanglewood for the 2000 season during which she prepared Verdi's Falstaff with Maestro Seiji Ozawa. The Los Angeles native completed her DMA with honors in Keyboard Collaborative Arts under the direction of Dr. Alan Smith at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music in May 2000. She holds a Master's degree in Accompanying from USC, as well as a Bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature and in Piano Performance. Puccinelli is an accomplished organist, harpsichordist, and choral conductor, and has directed several staged opera and musical productions. She currently teaches at the University of Southern California and is on the coaching staffs of the University of California, Irvine and the Opera Works Summer Intensive Program.
