About this Artist

DUNYA RAMICOVA has designed costumes for over 150 productions of theater, opera, television, and film in the US and around the world. She is a long time collaborator of director Peter Sellars. Their work together includes the world premieres of operas composed by John Adams: NIXON IN CHINA, THE DEATH OF KLINGHOFFER, and DOCTOR ATOMIC. Among their other collaborations are MOZART/DA PONTE CYCLE, THEODORA, SAINT FRANCOIS, THE MAGIC FLUTE, THE PERSIANS, TANNHAUSER, AJAX, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, and many others. Her previous work at Los Angeles Philharmonic includes EL NINO and OEDIPUS REX & SYMPHONY OF PSALMS. Dunya Ramicova is Founding Faculty member of the new University of California campus in Merced.
