One of the most interesting French gypsy guitarists today, THIERRY “TITI” ROBIN was originally inspired by the singing of the great flamenco vocalist El Camarón and the oud (an Arabic lute) playing of Iraqi virtuoso Munir Bachir. A master of cross-cultural musical outings, his GITANS (French for “gypsies”) project mixes sensuous Arabic rhythms and dramatic flamenco music with a touch of Gipsy Kings energy and flair. Harking back to the Indian roots of gypsy, Rajasthani dancer and singer Gulabi Sapera also joins the group with mesmerizing twirling and evocative vocals.
