About this Artist
ELISABETH A. SCOTT has worked in film, television, theater, and opera for 40 years as a production and costume designer.
Scott has designed for projects as diverse and character-driven as Kirk Douglas’ one-man show, Before I Forget, at the Douglas and for the HBO film of the same name; Stacy Keach’s Mike Hammer and Disney’s Lizzie McGuire for TV; and Handel’s Judas Maccabaeus for LA Opera. A love of narrative and music give her work both clarity and whimsy.
Designing costumes for Nixon in China has been a special delight, given Scott’s great love of John Adams’ music and the collaboration with director Elkhanah Pulitzer and the amazing creative team, coupled with a lovely immersion in history.
Elisabeth is member of the Art Directors Guild and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (the Emmys).
