Leslie Stevens

About this Artist

LESLIE STEVENS is a performing artist, librettist, teacher, and choreographer. She danced as a soloist with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago in works by Lou Conte, Twyla Tharp, Margo Sappington, Danny Ezralow, among others. As a young actor/dancer, she worked on Broadway (La Cage Aux Folles, Victor/Victoria) in collaborations with Arthur Laurents, Scott Salmon, Gwen Verdon, James Lapine, Rob Marshall, Julie Andrews, and Blake Edwards.

She has created original choreography for award-winning productions by 3-D Theatricals – Into the Woods, Side Show, Full Monty, and Hello Dolly (2016 10 Best – Orange County Register). Working with award-winning director Ken Sawyer, she choreographed productions of Cabaret, Ragtime, and Sweeney Todd.

She is honored to make her choreographic debut with the LA Phil working with Elkhanah Pulitzer and John Adams. Much appreciation to Elisabeth Scott, Dr. Forrest Fuller, and to Chan Hon Goh and her father for sharing their history with the National Ballet of China and the Red Detachment of Women ballet.
