About this Artist

Born in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1973, BRYAN SUTTON started playing the guitar at the age of eight in the mountain communities of Western North Carolina. Few artists have come so far so fast. As a leading session guitarist, he continues to appear on numerous recordings, from countless bluegrass and Top-40 country, to projects with artists like Rob Thomas and Harry Connick, Jr. For several years running, Bryan has been honored by the International Bluegrass Music Association as “Guitar Player of the Year.” Bryan won a Grammy in 2007 with American music legend and friend, Doc Watson, in the Country Instrumental Performance category. Sutton released a brand new record of acoustic virtuosity, classic songs, and stunning originals in July 2009. Almost Live represents a collection of the many esteemed players that Sutton has had the chance to play with live over the years.
