At just 19 years of age, EUGENE UGORSKI has performed concertos with orchestras in Western Europe, Russia, Canada, the U.S., and South America, working with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Andrey Boreyko, Keith Lockhart, and Roberto Minczuk.

In May 2005 Gergiev invited Ugorski to perform the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto under his baton at the Moscow Easter Festival. The concert was held in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and was broadcast around the world. The concert resulted in an immediate invitation from Gergiev to perform with the Rotterdam Philharmonic that season.

In the 2007/08 season Ugorski returned to Rotterdam once more to perform Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and Ravel’s Tzigane in four special concerts for the New Year. He also made several U.K. debuts this season. In January 2008 he performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the BBC Philharmonic. This resulted in the conductor, Jac van Steen, immediately inviting him to perform with his own orchestra, the Dortmund Philharmonic, in 2009. Also in January 2008, Ugorski performed the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Michal Dworzynski. In April 2008 he performed the Korngold Violin Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Tomas Hanus. The following month he made his debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra performing Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole conducted by Paul Meyer. Ugorski will make his Japanese debut with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony in March 2009. He also appears in recital, collaborating with pianists such as Boris Giltburg, Konstantin Lifschitz, and Sergio Tiempo.

Eugene Ugorski performs extensively in the United States. He made his orchestral debut with the San Diego Symphony at the age of eight and since then has performed regularly in North and South America. Memorable performances include the Boston Pops’ opening concert of the 2004/05 season in Boston Symphony Hall with Keith Lockhart, a visit to the Winnipeg Symphony with Boreyko, a series of concerts at the São Paolo International Festival in Brazil, and a tour of the Western U.S. with the Utah Symphony. Recently Ugorski performed a critically acclaimed debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and Eri Klas. He returned to the San Diego Symphony for three concerts in September 2007, and performs these two concerts at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. In the 2008/09 season he will make his debut with the Houston Symphony Orchestra performing Paganini’s Violin Concerto No. 1.

Eugene Ugorski began studying the violin at the age of six with Professor Vesna Gruppman. He continues to study with Vesna as well as with Igor Gruppman, one of the world’s most respected concertmasters.
