Founded in 1997 by Dr. Iris S. Levine, VOX FEMINA LOS ANGELES has been fulfilling its mission to "give women voice through the performance of quality choral literature" by performing highly eclectic repertoire including the commissioning of more than 20 new works for women's voices. Diverse in culture, age, race, belief and sexual identity, Vox is a non-profit women's chorus committed to raising awareness about issues that affect them as a family of women. Through music, Vox aims to create a world that affirms the worth and dignity of every person.

Since 1997, Vox Femina has performed at regional and national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and Chorus America. Vox Femina has collaborated with many notable arts organizations, including CONTRA-TIEMPO, the Albert McNeil Jubilee Singers, the Los Angeles Children's Chorus and the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. Vox has shared the stage with Broadway celebrities Florence Henderson, Susan Egan and Rachel York. Vox Femina has actively fulfilled its mission through a dynamic schedule of performances, touring and educational outreach and celebrates it's 15-year anniversary in 2012.
