About this Artist
Originally from Chicago, HARRISON WHITE (Sleepy) began performing in Head Start. His career has taken him around the world. On Broadway and L.A. stages he was seen in Julie Taymor’s Lion King and Mbongeni Ngema’s Sarafina!, which was performed for the White House and Nelson Mandela. White performed in the original London company of Smokey Joe’s Café, directed by Jerry Zaks, which garnered a Laurence Olivier Award nomination. Returning to the United States, he made the West Coast his home, where he works in film and television and continues his love affair with the stage. His stage career has earned him nominations and awards from L.A. Ovation, the NAACP, and Stage Scene L.A. committees, for performances in Gulls, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Full Monty, Ray Charles Live, Sister Act, and Purlie. His film work includes Disney’s The Wild soundtrack, Seven (starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman), and Master P’s I Got The Hook Up.
