Dylan Ollivier

About this Artist

Dylan is currently a senior at Santa Monica High School. He plays alto saxophone in his school’s Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. It was his love for sax, piano, and guitar, that prompted him to start taking composition lessons with Francoise Levechin at the Conservatoire International de Paris, France. Since his family moved to Los Angeles, Dylan started studying composition with Gary Shields Jr. In 2014, he received the Honorable Mention at the MTNA competition. In 2015, he earned the Certificate of Excellence for saxophone, which he had received the year before for piano, for his achievement at the Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program. In 2015 and 2O16, he received Superior ratings (the highest marking) for his performance at the SCSBOA festival. In 2016 he was accepted into the LA Phil Associate Composers Program under the direction of Andrew Norman and Sara Gibson. In June 2017, he participated in the Sunset Chamberfest Program for young composers.  He also plays saxophone in the small ensemble for classical and jazz music at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Arts.
